Building Schedules
This guide explains how to create a schedule, add songs and other items, reorder them, and use custom text and blank slides.
What is a schedule?
A schedule is a single setlist for a service. It contains items in order:
- Songs — From your Library; each shows its verses/slides in Presenter.
- Custom text — Your own text (e.g. scripture, announcements, welcome).
- Blank slides — Black (or blank) slides for moments when you don’t want lyrics on screen.
You can have multiple schedules (e.g. “Sunday AM”, “Sunday PM”, “Wednesday”) and switch between them. The Presenter uses the active schedule when you’re on the Schedule tab.
Creating or opening a schedule
- Open Schedule from the sidebar.
- If no schedule exists, the app creates one (e.g. “Sunday Service”) and sets it as active.
- To rename the current schedule: click the pencil icon next to the title, type the new name, then click away or press Enter.
- The date under the title helps you tell schedules apart; you can have one schedule per service date.
To add more schedules (if your app supports multiple): create or switch via the same Schedule view or any schedule selector your church uses. The active schedule is the one used in Presenter.
Adding songs to the schedule
- In Schedule, the right side shows “Add Songs” with a search box and a grid of songs.
- Use the search box to find songs by title or author.
- Click the + button on a song card to add that song to the end of the current schedule.
The new item appears in the list on the left. You can reorder it (see below).
Reordering items
On the left, each schedule item has:
- Up / Down arrows — Move the item one position up or down.
- Items at the top/bottom can’t move further in that direction.
Reorder until the setlist matches the service order. The order in the list is the order you’ll see in Presenter.
Adding custom text items
Use this for scripture, announcements, welcome text, or any text that isn’t a song.
- In Schedule, click the custom text button (document icon) next to + Add Item.
- In the dialog:
- Title — Short label (e.g. “Scripture Reading”, “Announcements”). Shown in the schedule list and in Presenter.
- Text Content — The exact text to show on screen (e.g. “John 3:16 — For God so loved the world…”). Line breaks are kept.
- Click Add to Schedule (or Update if editing).
The item is added to the end of the schedule. In Presenter, selecting it shows the text as one or more slides (split by lines as needed). You can reorder or edit it like any other item.
Editing custom text
- In the schedule list, find the custom text item.
- Click the pencil (edit) icon on that row.
- Change the title or text content, then click Update.
Adding blank slides
Use a blank item when you want a black (or empty) screen (e.g. before the offering, during prayer).
- In Schedule, click the blank slide button (rectangle icon) next to + Add Item.
- A “Blank Slide” item is added at the end of the schedule.
In Presenter, when you select that item and go live, the output shows a black slide. You can also use the Black button during the service for an instant blackout without changing the selected item.
Saving and loading schedules
- Schedules are saved automatically as you add, remove, or reorder items and when you rename the schedule. You don’t need to click “Save” separately.
- Loading means choosing which schedule is active:
- In Schedule, the schedule you see and edit is the active one. If your setup has a schedule dropdown or list, select the one you want (e.g. “Sunday AM”).
- In Presenter, the Schedule tab shows the active schedule’s items. Switch the active schedule in Schedule view first if you want to run a different setlist.
Data is stored locally (and optionally synced if you use the backend). Export backups from Settings → Data Management → Export Backup (see Getting Started).
